I just purchased a 1959 Buick Model 43, it has everything from the tranny back (dynaflow). Can any of you "Buick" guys tell me what motors will bolt up to this trans?

The bolt pattern is the same for 364/401/425 from '57 to '66, but the Dynaflow's last year was '63. The crankshaft for a Dynaflow car has a larger hole for the torque converter nose. Happy motoring:), Frank.

Is there a modern day engine that will bolt up easily?

That's a big NOPE! Nailhead's are a beast all unto themselves. That said, they're still easy to find, just grab a 57-63 Dyna-backed motor and put it in. It'll fit, and bolt up.

You put a smallblock or bigblock Chebby in that I will come find you and beat you senseless.

No SBC for me, want to go back with original, just not a Buick guy, but fast becoming one. Just did not know the "availability" of these ole nailheads. Research, research research, tring to cram a new marque in 2 days. Although I do have a 12v Cummins laying around.:D
