I will never paint a car with rattle can rustoleum again.... If I absolutely HAVE to rattle can a car body i use krylon, the tips on the cans have a "fan" on them which makes even coats soooo much easier.
it was an inexpensive way to make it look good. if i remember correctly it was the cheapest krylon walmart had in satin black. i believe we had around $75-$85 in it with all materials used. the krylon sprays nice and blends well. the cuda belongs to a friend
Of course, I was kidding. Just waiting for some one to point it out. But hey, who knows -- by the time he gets around to a real paint job, fish eyes in paint may be the latest fad. Bob
This is what was done back in the day: mix a 50:50 batch of kerosene and water. Shake it up and wipe it on with a rag. It will give you the sheen you want, make water bead up, protect against rust and when it wears off it is pretty easy and cheap to reapply. BTW this works on chrome, too.
_________________________________________________________________ I had a friend that did something along those lines many years ago to a faded paint job....it was not half bad to look at but had issues in dampness or rain. I myself wouldn't do it. There are clears out there that could taylor your finish to where you want to go.
How about this! Go to your local John deere dealership. They sell john Deere Blitz Black It Has a bit of a sheen, It comes in spray cans or by the gallon and they sell thinner too. Put it on fairly heavy let dry and u can use fine steel wool if u like. Just an ole farm boy hot rodder trick. Whatevers in the barn can float your boat or stain yer rod!!!!! this works , This made us kool before kool was cool.....
Tractor Supply has it, too. Does it have a thicker consistency that other rattle cans? I agree, good enough for the tractor, good for the rod.
