help with flathead ford motor

can i run 1946 59ab heads on a later 8ba flathead motor without problems ,if so what year head gaskets do i use thanks----rick

 

Its easy all you do is pipe plug one hole on each side and use the early gaskets

The heads will interchange but there is a concern about some water passages. There are books available that mention the necessary mods. I believe you will want to use the gaskets for the particular heads. The water passages in question will need to be plugged. The Bishop/Tardel book mentions it and thats the one that comes to mind anyway and I'm sure others do also. I hope that helps.
