I could not find any threads regarding Guide headlight repair. I purchased a set that will require repair of marker light sockets. Has anyone repaired their marker light socket receptacles or installed new ones? Also, the marker light housings are different. I would like to purchase/trade for either housing to get a matched pair. Any help or reference to an existing thread appreciated.

Thanks hooligan....just what I needed for repair of marker lights. The replacement marker housings they sell don't "tab-in" like originals so I'm still looking for a Guide replacement for either of the two types I have pictured.

I'd think some careful work with a flap wheel could turn the left one into another right.

Get another of the small earlier style. They are 100 times cooler. I always look for places that have big trucks/ equipment rotting away. Ive had good luck even recently buying Guides and parts. The side mount guides are drying up but still around if you look and are a great sourcs for parts. Good luck

I thought about working over the smaller one to enlarge but actually like it better. Got a PM on a couple listed on eBay so may go that route. Never though about truck salvage yards and we have a couple here so I'll check that out too. If someone has a small window housing, I'm interested....

You can remove the original sockets and install universal aftermarket ones.
If you use the larger housings you can use sockets for 1157 bulbs to get turn signal AND running lights. You have to use the pointed lenses.

    Boutlaw-
Here is a picture of my headlight with the larger housing and pointed lens.
I'm not running the dual filament bulb but my friend, who gave me one of my headlights, is running the dual filament 1157 in his identical headlights.

Anybody have any new contacts for Guide Headlight parts? I need retaining rings and outside trim rings , and the gaskets that go between the lights. Thanks Peck

You may want to check with OTB Gear for outer rings and gaskets. They should have the retaining rings as well, but you could use those from any ‘70’s and back vehicles that used 7 inch headlight bulbs

Those Guide bezels were used on '49-'59 Harleys ...
I used to get them from "V Twin" bike parts for $27.00 each...
careful buying retainer rings, they are 7" but are different thicknesses...

I recently picked up OTB's trim rings. They look and fit fine.

Early Chevrolet some of their trim rings will work also.

Makes sense, Guide was a GM company
