It's a YC code block. The stamping is 597496 I've been through about 10 different lists and I can't find these numbers. Any help? Thanks in advance.
Stamping number is the serial number from the car it came from. Look here for how to identify your block, http://www.wallaceracing.com/enginesearch4.htm The date code is at the back, you need it first since the YC was used more then once. Here is a pretty complete list, http://www.wallaceracing.com/engine1.htm, as you look through it, YC is a common code, so date code is really important.
Yeah, the date code will be up by the distributor, starting with a letter, A for the first month of the year, B for the second, and so on, then the date, then a single number for the year.
