Ok, this car is new to me. AZ, so heat. I have a problem when it gets warm where the heat is boiling and it won’t start. Bought some spacers from Bob Drake. Questions: what’s the red adapters used between the riser and carbs? Are these 97’s like I thought? I read the 97s bolt directly to the Edelbrock. upload_2026-3-21_15-54-4.jpeg

The red parts are the bases of the carburetors.

The red "spacer" is the throttle body of the carburetor.

Got it. The bases he painted. Found the markings behind the linkage. 1 1/32- Stromberg 48.

Those are not 97’s, they are 48’s. Slightly bigger venturi than a 97. If your engine is bigger CI and a hot cam, you should be fine.

If your heating issue is the carbs are too hot, you could put phenolic spacers between the carb and manifold to reduce heat creep. Will require longer studs, and maybe some mods to your linkage. You can buy them from Stromberg, as well as other places.

Thanks! I figured out after I realized the markings were behind the linkage. I have the spacers from Bob Drake, hopefully that solves my hot start issue.
