Looking Good! The rate at which you get things done makes me feel like a huge slacker... great job.

Picked up a nice model A steering wheel and horn button, I think I like it better than the '40 Ford wheel.

Finished the spring notches, reinforced with 3/4" square tubing.

Tail lights from a '46 Chevrolet.

  5. Wow, this is awesome!
Your correct, when you said that doing a little bit everyday gets you there faster.
    Great thread.

Finished rebuilding the carbs and buttoned up the engine.

Got the rumble lid latched and lockable.

All I lack on trunk area is to skin the divider between the seat and fuel tank.

Must say your coupe is coming along great. Fab work is simple but clean. Hope you have some great fun with your coupe.

I've been finishing up the body framework, getting close to tearing it apart and start painting everything.

Picked up some nice doors, mine were pretty beat (and shot) up.

    Thanks guys...

I'm going to use an old AM radio so I thought I would use this old drive in movie speaker.

Started tearing it all back apart as all the structural fab work is done. Started finish welding the fenderwells and the flooring.

Each to his own, but I wouldn't use either the axle or spring. The spindles and brakes are usable as long a you are ok with the non-self energizing type drum brake. I'd use a narrower front axle with a 1-3/4 inch wide spring over the axle. Just an opinion.

I reckon big and littles would give it some attitude and nail the 60's look with the ladder bars, small block etc...

Why is this excellent build thread only rated at 3 stars??

Great read with great pics...oh, and the car is about as hamb friendly as any car could be.

How hard was it to coax the square tube to the arc for the roof?
I have been running mine without a roof for a year and it's time to get weather tite.

It wasn't too hard, I put a piece of cardboard up against all four sides and scribed it so I would have a template to bend to. The two sides and rear piece were the worst because they have compound bends. I bent them using a vise that was opened up to about an inch and a half.

Super thread with a great build. Keep on keeping on that is going to be one nice ride. Would you mind telling what you had to give for the vette valve covers?
    Thanks,

Thanks, I was wondering what those things were going for. I found a super nice set of them wrapped in plastic in a box at my Dad's (R.I.P.) shop. They had a sticker on them for $90 and I guess that's what he paid for them. Anyway and again awesome build, sorry to hijack your thread for a minute.

Made some good progress this evening, got the spindles and brakes on and ran the brake and fuel lines. Dropped the engine and trans in and plumbed up the transmission lines, then mounted the carbs and put all the linkage together.
