1 (2).JPG Helping a friend out with there 57 Thunderbird, I believe its the original 312 ,anyway the been running it for some years with an inline electric and now it finally gave out so I suggested just replacing the stock one so I did and still got no fuel,I checked all the obvious none of the lines are plugged ,can suck clean fuel out of the supply line ,even tried priming the pump . I had the pump out a couple of times to make sure it was under what I guess is the camshaft its running off and then notice if I moved the pump slightly forward the arm was barely on what drives it which I'm guessing is the camshaft? anyway pulled the old one out of the trash and noticed it was just barely making contact on the outer edge ,
Can anyone shed some light on this ? Thought about bending the arm back or tig welding a piece of the old one to it to make it wider ,then decided better not I just got back with a universal electric pump but figured Id check in here first ,,thanks ahead Jim

if 6290 is left out the fuel pump will ride off center and wear like the one you show....
