So..i bought an Anglia w/ 6v71, 383 sbc. changed to BDS 671, Weiland mannifoid. spacers at head gaskets and intake mounting to reduce compression( bought it this way. ***embled , started. no oil pressure. Orig. oil pump shaft originally engaged distributor by 1/16". new mannifold obviously higher dist mounting do to head/ intake spacing. Had lenghtened shaft made..good pressure now but not pumping lifters p***. side. I believe i have uncovered oil p***age to p***

Are you using an actual priming tool and rotating the engine over in increments?

I would recommend getting a distributor with an adjustable collar for height. I know MSD makes them, this would allow you to use the normal length oil pump drive and also align with the oil p***age. If you have the ability, you could machine yours and make a collar.

As Vern implies, there are p***ages on the outside of the distributor housing that need to be sitting down in the block in the proper place, to distribute oil to the lifters.

Adding spacers to the heads and intake sounds like a really bad way to address compression ratio.
