I've got a huge proble with turn signals on a 1959 Impala. I replaced the switch and bought the rebuild kit from eklers thats installed in the column. The problem was this..... The turn signals were working fine. Then they stopped. What would happen is, you would use the signal, it would blink maybe 5 or 6 times then stop? I thought maybe it was the dash light acting funny but it stopped blinking outside also? So I install these new parts and it's still doing the same thing? Sometimes it will even blink when its in the off postion? The wiring is all stock and in excellent shape????? It's driving me CRAZY!!!!! PLEASE HELP. Edited by Ryan... Looked at all your past posts. Didn't see a single person be an ***hole to you. I saw you didn't do an intro, and were asked to do it. You posted an OT car and were told it was an OT car. Posted pictures of your car painted in a weird/odd two-tone and were given feedback you didn't like, and then agreed with. You've asked lots of questions and were always given friendly help. You seem to be a bit thin skinned. Gotta be less sensitive on a forum. Anyhow, sounds like you have a bad flasher. But the info you provided is a little incomplete so that's just a stab in the dark. Keep at it, you'll like it here.
I did give an into, Also it wasn't on the board it was private messages that were sent to me. No worries!
You say you "HAVE'' a HOTROD shop but you DON'T know where the flasher unit is on a car ? Are you serious or are you pulling our collective legs, as in just kidding ! I just looked at your public profile page and tried to check out your Shop for ****s and grins ,but I didn't see anything on it.... What gives, just wondering... If you look under the dash beside/or on the fuse block you'll find the flasher unit, its about one inch round and has flasher printed on the side... Good luck.....
I am trying to kid lol!!!! Felt dumb not looking into the flasher! www.doubledsrodshop.com Check it out
also the t/s switch is on the top of the column down close to the floor. it is moved by a small rod from the arm and is adjustable. most of the time if it still blinks with the arm in the neutral position then the switch is out of adjustment or gummed up.
