I know I will get a srtaight answer here even if it is not the one I want...Here goes: I have a 28 Ford I am converting to a spring over, more conventional hot rod. I am getting tired of the spring behind t-bucket look...As it turns out the current set up is an Econoline front end. Question is, can I buy a new drop I beam kit and use the spindles and brakes I have??? The kingpin bosses on the current axle are .750 and if I am not mistaken the 37-48 would be .813. I have access to a damn fine machine shop so precise milling is possible. But just because I can doesnt mean I should... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Grabber 28
Gary, Your post was very helpful....and it reminded me I forgot to mention I do not have a stock Econoline front end...I have an aftermarket springbehind setup running econoline spindles and brakes. Also, if this question has been answered previously please let me know.. I have done my best to ask, only after I could not find an answer in the archives... Thanks again for the help...
I think I have my problem figured out....looks like SuperBell can/will/may have in stock a drop i bean for econoline spindles.....Sweet... Grabber 28
