Yes, sedan delivery. A friend bought the perfectly preserved, always garaged (in controlled temp!) 1946 Ford 3/4 ton panel truck of Navlett's Florist, in San Jose, CA. The heirs were liquidating the business, sold this beautiful panel truck for $300! It was a V8, too. He drove it out of there, ran like a watch.
HaHa, I thought that trim was unique Grille center is inside sedan Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
What a great, solid find. Love the old commercial lettering. Glad you're retaining it. Have you searched out the history of the "Auburn Steam Laundry"?
That's cool. Never seen one up close, I see now Ford just added them to the side of a 40 Standard bullnose unlike the trucks where the waterfall is the bullnose. The side "wiskers" look to be unique to 41 delivery as well, fat like the truck but shorter. Great that they are all there. Couple other things I noticed that must be unique to the 41 assuming it's all original. 40 Standard grill but the sides are chrome, didn't know Ford ever chromed that style of grill. Also, I see 40 Deluxe headlamp doors but 41 truck park lamp lens. It's like a "deluxe" version of a standard. I always have know 41 deliverys were odd balls, built out of left over parts but it's cool how Ford mixed and matched parts to change it up from a 40. Again, what a great find. Sure glad Gary Streetrodder didn't get a hold of it first and throw all of it's uniqueness away!
@SicSpeed Any idea if it is from Auburn, CA? They did have an old steam laundry... http://www.auburn.ca.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/339 Or maybe just a trade-name.
Hello, Outstanding find. I am partial to 40-41 deliveries bought two in a ten year period. (62-72) Ahh that view out the front was seen many times on the drives up and down the coast on our trips. great shot... Jnaki
