HELPING Fellow HAMB Members Stop and/or Slow Down Possible Car Thieves!

I have a kill switch on every car, a few don't run, one have a big link chain as a club (through steering wheel, then pad locked. The other end is looped around clutch and brake pedal and then pad locked) and the 2 in the driveway are connected to each other with a BIG chain and pad locks (to the axles)....you have to take them both. I was thinking about putting in..........paranoia has worked for me this far .

 

There was a post end of last year or begining of this year detailing how a HAMBer did that....I wonder were they got the idea for the show .

 

I can't recall when that episode aired. I'm pretty sure it was way before summer started but I wouldn't be surprised..

Cutting thru a steering wheel with a hacksaw takes about 2 minutes.

 

at one of our largest swapmeets over here you get a numbered double ticket when your entering with your car, on half is a windshield sticker, the other is your evidence to prove that this is your ride. you can only leave the area, if you're showing both pieces with the same number, f.e. the 170 on the sticker AND the numbered ticket in your hand. after that was introduced, there wasn't a car stolen again, it's a large area and about 2500 cars.. before there were nearly two or three cars stolen each year. works!

 

Carry a hand gun and stay close.
