need help in finding some valve seats for a 241 desoto hemi. my machinist had a shop that had them but went to get some and there closed up.he's had my engine for a yr and i want it back. it turns out my block and heads are in good shape so far. does any one make alumiumn valve covers for the 241? and four barrel intake for the same? hopefully with the hemi section on the hamb i can figure out how to mount my five speed. one thing i still have the original bell houseing if that helps.
if he has a SERDI (http://www.serdi.com/cust/home.aspx) he could put any seat he wants to in the head.
Well, if you have done a search for intakes then you should have found this: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=334100&highlight=241+intake O'Brien has valve covers, and any decent machine shop has inserts. Your homework ***ignment for tonight is to read every thread that deals with EarlyHemi engines, start with Scooters Hemi Tech listings. .
Heck, Gary, I'm just GLAD to hear somebody is bringing back a "baby" Hemi. He sure ofund the RIGHT group to ask, and the usal Hemi guys (like you) are here to help him, just as you helped ME! Yeah, I too love the HAMB. Everybody likes compe***ion, but they HELP the guys who are newer to a rebuild/adaptation. Once again, salute!
73RR is correct - as far as I know, I am the only manufacturer of finned aluminum valve covers for the Dodge (and the DeSoto) early Hemis. Feel free to contact me about the valve covers (or about valley covers and other finned aluminum engine accessories.) Dennis O'Brien obt@charter.net
