OMG !! you have the the block in which the map to the lost world of Atlan...no wait, thats spelled differently.... How about it means...... nothing...? .
A HOLES i was hopeing to find the shop or person that did the rebuild to get i little history on the motor. That’s pretty dam funny
A HOLES That's Atlatis holes right? maybe it was just the customers name or it could have been rebuilt at Spanky's shop, they built alot of really cool stuff back in the day. Buck-wheat used to work for him and on every motor he would write "At latis dun" ; scrape the paint to confirm. However it is rumered that upon completing the very last motor he would build, the G-man came and stole his Fire-dackers. He never got to mark "dun" on that final hemi block. Perhaps it is this final one you have discovered.
I used to know a dislexic machinist names Sitalta that used to build alot of hemis. Out of buisness now because he started acidently put them together to run reverse rotation
thanks all you Atlatis holes i did not find out s#*t about my motor but i got some good laughs .IS THAT SPANKY WITH THE FIVE SISTERS P.S dave your car is really cool <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o> </o>
Hi, I'm "Mark Harris". I built your Hemi. You can see it in the bottom of the frame about 3/4 of the way through this video... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vkLpM7HQ8SU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vkLpM7HQ8SU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
mark you get the Atlatis hole award of the year <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o> </o> now that’s pretty dam funny a little spooky but dam funny<o></o>
Seriously though, I think it reads: Atla Tis Given your location, it may well stand for "Atlanta" (perhaps the rebuild location) and the "Tis" could be a stock number (if it was on a shelf) or refer to the division of the company that rebuilt it at the Atlanta location. I think it was from a rebuilder, man. That's my vote. Mysterious, though... you may check with a couple of local old-school machine shop and ask the old guy behind the counter. ~Jason
