Couple of videos of the break in of my DeSoto 330. 73RR built this for me years back, but life got in the way. Very happy to hear it sing for the first time. Enjoy!

Music to my ears! But shouldn't those valve covers say FireFlight rather than FireDome?

I also have a 330, love the sound of these hemis.

 

Nothing gets my pressure up like a roaring Hemi

 

A body-off-frame project is massive work, kudos to you !

73RR I know we originally planned to run a modern distributor with an HEI module underneath but I found this flat top Mallory that I couldn’t pass up.

 

Very nice find. Hopefully you find all of the pieces that you need.

 

That old Mallory won’t work for you but I checked and it will fit mine great.
I’ll even pay shipping.

Did you find it already polished or did you do it? I polished the one on my roadster and it sure looked good.

 

I took it apart to clean it all up and polished it. Dropped the Pertronix in and it works great so far. I’m running it in those 2 videos.

I haven’t hooked up and messed with the vacuum advance but I took the piston out and punched a new piece of leather so fingers crossed.

My avatar Hemi was a joy to hear fired up. Its a Dodge 270 bored .080 trips and custom cam. What I really like about it is it sounds SO BIG. They have a different sound than all the other engines I built.
