We got back from our (trip of a lifetime) Alaska trip yesterday morning at 2 AM, after some recuperation and jet lag recovery, today I went and got the interior from the upholstery guy, and got the interior in the roadster. It looks amazing, I'm glad we went with the blue plaid and burgundy leather. 6D7B7116-2311-4533-8323-730C7BC42490.jpeg 6216EA6F-23D6-4799-9C36-97F2592E4081.jpeg AD616420-D668-461D-8F80-15AF59BBF037.jpeg 60A09800-DD48-437D-86E1-23BA24E9B59B.jpeg

    Looks beautiful!
Wonder if the guy could provide a 'doily' of the same material for the seat top if you plan on lots of outdoor shows. That's always the first part to fade and rot.

The fabric is "Olefin" outdoor furniture fabric. It's not going to fade and rot, at least in my lifetime. And, the car isn't going to spend much time setting around at car shows...;)

I had some leather strapping left over from the hood hold downs, a trip to the hardware store netted me some copper rivets (the guy there today had never HEARD of such a thing, I had to show him where they were, and what they are , had had to have been 60 years old too!) and footman loops, and I ended up with these neat looking door check straps. Yeah, me too. I know exactly where I was going, cringed when the guy asked, "What are you looking for today?", and followed me up the steps to the fasteners (they have a great selection of odd-ball, and fancy stuff). When I told him, he took me to the pegboard wall with "Pop-Rivets", I said, "No, no. I want copper rivets and backer washers."
"Never heard of anything like that.", he said, while he followed me to the drawer in the bin where they were. I guess everybody can't know everything, but an old guy working in a hardware store ought to know what rivets are...

  11. I mean, I just went thru that section at lunch time in our local store. Doesn't everybody do that on their lunch break!?
