There were LOTS of big boxes on our porch this morning, a shipment from Speedway that I ordered on Sunday. 15" wheels, ribbed trim rings, and baby moons for the roadster. I'd found I had a pair of Ford 15x5's in the shed, AND a brand new (last summer) pair of 16570R15" tires. Now I'll paint 'em up in the same blue as the car, get a pair of tires for the rear, and not worry about getting a flat in the wire wheels that most tire shops won't touch. It's like Christmas! The wires looked great on the car. Sorry to see them go!

  4. Wire wheels were the mags of the '30s up to the '50s...

I love the wire wheels, too bad you are so far away…they would look great on my Chrysler!

The new setup will look killer on the little roadster as well.

I liked those wires on your car. Kind of a "other side of the pond" look with your windscreen and exhaust tips. Of course, you would have to re-paint it British Racing green and add tan leather interior. Nah, I can't wait to see the new shoes mounted up.

  8. That would be 'Biscuit', not tan... LOLOL...

I got snootily corrected when I called it 'tan' on my XJS Jag...

I really like the different look of the wires over the belly****on steel wheels and hubcaps everybody else is running. Sets it apart as different, not another one of the herd.

Just my .02, your opinion may vary…

So, would darker shades of tan be cornbread?

Or perhaps English Muffin would be more apt.

I love the wires. I've had a couple of flats, which are difficult to deal with as lots of tire shops won't touch these wheels. So when we're away from home with it, I want wheels and tires I can get serviced/replaced anywhere a credit card and tow truck can get me.
