Hemi starter to flywheel engagement problem

    Congrats Scott! Glad you got it all figured out...I had the exact opposite issue with my Poncho motor, turns out I needed nearly 3/8" of shims to get the "remanufactured" starter far enough away from the ring gear so that it would quit hanging up and engage properly...everyone I talked to told me "there's no way it would ever need more than .100 thousandths of shim" ummm, .355 thousandths is a LOT more than .100, and that was the minimum to get it to work...hahaha...sometimes you just gotta try shit out and hope for the best...
