    Just discovered your post. Actually, the early (‘54 up short bell) Chrysler Hemi short blocks (block and internals, no heads ) are not all that heavy. Not much heavier than a Chevy in that same dress. ***embled however, with iron heads, double rocker shafts, iron intake, iron water manifold/pump….now that’s where the weight is (750/770 #) Dodge models are about 100 lbs lighter.

    Using aluminum intake and aluminum Chevy water pump conversion really helps pare some pounds.
