HEMI Tech- PISTONS! rods and related

    This has been tried hundreds, if not thousands, of times and the result is the same...less compression
    due to less swept volume.
    If you need or want more c/r then buy a forged piston. These engines run very nice at 10:1
    BTW, if the 392 piston casting number starts with '17' then it is a 1957, if '18' then it is a 1958....

    Can't post piston numbers,pistons and block are at the machine shop.Still can't upload pic of the pistons side by side photo's to big.Going to try and crop it and see what happens.Thanks for the reply's everyone.

    I had to go back and read your original post to refresh my old brain....yes, in your case you will get a compression boost over the Industrial's 7.5
    A 392 piston in a 354 block will give you about 8¼-8¾:1, again based on the totality of the parts and work done. If you have a 58 piston and have made cuts on the heads and block you might see 9:1... I never recommend cutting iron to raise c/r however...
    As long as you don't get crazy with the cam profile it should run fine.

    OK guys after reading what everyone said I called Dave at Hughes Engines,as luck would have it his supplier had one core.I own two of Dave's cams now so wanted to see if he could help.After as few phone calls, telling him what I wanted and what I have we desided on a custom grind based on their whiplash series.These cams work in the 8:1-8.75:1 range.We changed some numbers a bit but I believe it will work.So thanks everyone.
