Hey guys. Anybody have any experience using this synthetic oil advertised in Hemmings "Cl***ic Car" rag? SAE 10W30 ($53.95 incl. shipping)
I haven't used that but I've used Amsoil synthetic. In my y block and my F150 with the 5.4 I was not happy with it. The lifters in my y block were excessively noisy at higher rpm. Something I had not heard with Brad Penn oil. Switched back and both engined quieted back down immediately. I only had about 100 miles on the y block and around 1000 on my truck when the noise started.

I use 10W40 here in Phoenix our summer temps are 100+ degrees June thru early September. Other places might prefer 10W30 though.
Sounds good. I'm planning to do an oil change once it warms up around here. (20 degrees here today.) My 272 was rebuilt in 2008 and probably has only 2k miles on it. (How often do you change the "road draft" filter?) Thanks for the tips, Mato
