A little O/T but, I picked up a kool CD last night at Hastings. The CD is Called "Billy" volume one with 21 different bands: Reverend Horton Heat, Big Sandy, Wayne Hancock, Nekromantix, James Intveld, Marti Brom, Three Bad Jacks, Demented Are Go, Dusty 45s, Cave Catt Sammy, Restless, The Quakes, Josie Kreuzer, Frantic Flintstones, Flea Bops, Blue Moon Boys, Os Catalepticos, Big Six, Ramblin James & the Billy Boppers, Go Kat Go and Deke*****erson. My advice stop what your doing and go to your local Music store and buy this CD today. Oh, I forgot to tell ya, it cost me $4.99. WOW!!! What a deal!! Happy Trails, Mick
i looked for that when it came out and all the places around here had no idea what i was talking about. at least i am not crazy.
My G.F. picked one up at Earl Scruggs Record Shop when we were in Nashville, listened to it all the way home. Pretty good.
carefull guys your asking for it from all the RAB haters on this board. Actually I was looking for that as well, it looks like a good mix.
Earl Scruggs has a record shop? That is pretty F'n cool. I wonder if he carries that new Linkin Park CD...
No Linkin Park, but he's heavy into 98 Degrees. Just the classic 98 degrees though, not the new*****. Crease Barons So Tex
Ok, enlighten me. I like rockabilly (as well as other music) but I'm not into punk, screaming, raw, distorted rockabilly. I dig BR549, Stray Cats, Jr. Brown, Robert Gordon, Eddie Cochran and the likes. Is this CD for me or will it make me want to go out and kick my dog?
Donzie, a couple of the bands may make you go out and kick some****, like the Nekromantix, Demented are Go, but the others are great artists. No punk on it.
Donzie if you like BR 549 & Stray cats you'll love this CD. A couple of head banger groups, but 80% of them are pure tweaked up 50's rocking roll. I believe it is a good mix. Happy Trails, Mick
Cool. My son works in Barnes & Nobles music dept. I'll see if he can pick it up for me. *Just ordered it, $5.99.*
