I’m actually not sober one bit! I like to enjoy a few drinks with my friends and sometimes even the “Jazz Cabbage” I just don’t party like I used to! I’m not gonna get into much of my personal life because that tends to get these posts locked! I like to catch up with my friends but @Moriarity ain’t gonna put up with it.
So regardless of where life leads us, I think we learn from our mistakes.
In 2011-2012 I died twice from mine. I overdosed then I got out and I went and overdosed again and then I was stabbed That’s probably enough for me.

I don’t fly off the handle like I used to.

I have a bunch of shit to share!
I’m trying to figure it all out.

A lot of it was thrown out by George during a cleaning or the attic and we gathered up what we could and took the time to sort through it all and link the pieces together with what cars the paperwork was for, a very time consuming task.
We also spent a few years with George at Paso Robles back when Roth was still alive. I had Roth do a bunch of signing for me.
I was never a shy guy when it came to looking stupid by trying to meet these legends and pick their brains.

A lot of the Barris stuff thrown out was junk, but there was some interesting history.
During that time Brad and I helped George make a trip to Viva Las Vegas with the Munster Coach and George liked the show and I assume he liked the money.
We worked the booth and George did what George does. He spent time interacting with the babes and taking pictures.
My job was to help keep George out of trouble at the show. I met a bunch of Hamb guys at the show and we returned the following years.
As you can imagine It was a good time.

I also made a lot of trades and collected what I could from other people who preserve the history. I had been collecting photos and show programs and event tickets and such since the early 90’s

I’ve made quite a few trades with guys I met on the HAMB. A bunch of my Original Roth stuff came from Andy the Ghoul and a few other guys.

It’s gotta be better than “poetry” !
I’ll dig up some more stuff and if anyone has any old programs from the early 50’s to Mid 60’s I’m always buying them. The problem is that a majority of them were never saved or kept intact

Privileged viewing if ya know what you're lookin at. I was a child back then, we had a lot of this type of stuff that was lost in a house fire in 1971. Didn't burn, got drenched into pulp from the firehose.
I thought that was Cole Foster but don't feel connected enough to say it. Repeat it, ok but...

  17. Germ, I hate to hi-jack your thread, but I need some help trying to identify this Barris gift catalog I've had for quite some time. It's 48 pages and lists 100s of items, everything from housewares, sporting goods, toys etc. even a Jaguar XK-150 roadster. Each item has a number but no price so I'm not sure how they were purchased, perhaps a point system, or a separate price list that's not with the catalog.
I showed it to George several years ago but he seemed a bit hesitant to talk about it, said he couldn't remember that far back. I've scanned the cover, one of the inside pages and the back cover. I'd appreciate any help.

That's amazing! George was quite the businessman.

My grandparents had the Club Aluminum set, probably made from melted down B17s. "Just like the '50s Bro (tm)"

Wow man! I have never seen that and have never heard of that! But I’m far from an expert on any of it. What’s amazing is that he still managed to advertise his “Glaze” product on the back cover.
That’s an incredible piece and I want to know more about it.
Maybe it’s some form of blue chip stamp kind of thing where if you buy a certain amount of Barris Products you can get your wife a set of cooking ware.

  20. I thought about the stamp or point thing for buying product, but you'd have to buy a whole bunch to qualify for the XK-150 Jag.
I guess its still a mystery, so let's get back to seeing some more of your great collection.

I remember those RM paint labels and logo. Fuck I'm old! Ok, not really. No, I do remember em, just not old. My story, my way.:D And jacked up on a 4X4, I do that to my 39 to get high enough for my tall truck stands.

Seriously bitchin stuff. Exciting and sublime.
