    Hi All
I stumbled across this board a few weeks back while looking for info on 6x2 setups, joined and am hooked. (its worse than online poker!). I then had to to buy t-shirts from kcsledz !

I wanted a hotrod when I was younger, but my Dad and Uncle said I couldnt afford the petrol or insurance costs (I grew up in New Zealand). So I kept re-reading the boxes of 60's HotRod mags that my Grandad gave me and kept dreaming.

My first car was a 1954 Ford Fordson Pickup (yep 10hp sidevalve - same engine as the sit up and beg populars/anglias/prefects) which I restored and drove around in. In hindsight it was the best learning tool, as I completely tore it down and rebuilt it. Did all the work myself (including panel and paint) except welding, machining and putting the motor back together.

Ever since those days of not exceeding 40mph I wanted to go faster so I progressed through various British Ford*******s and Capris (the nicest being a Mk1 Twincam that I restored, modified the engine internals and friendly raced a couple of times). Then I moved to canada and then to the US. I was living in SoCal, looked around for a rod but bought a 65 dodge dart. I put an offy intake on, twincarbs, split headers, custom exhaust. You can see it on my website www.displacedkiwi.com - click on "other" and then the dart icon and then the pics.

Now I've moved to St Louis, have the dart with me and am looking for a rod or custom car, finally! I dont know exactly what I want, but pre 1960 with a V8 and preferably a manual*******. I started the ball rolling by purchasing a sbc weiand manifold with 6 holley 2100's on it. So I am leaning toward a sbc powered car that I can put that on, but hey I can always keep it for the next one!

Well, thats enough of a novel from me. I hope I can contribute to the board and that this is the beginning of a long hamb relationship.

    cheers all
