Pumping water out the overflow usually means you overfilled it, not that it got too hot. Coolant level should be just high enuf to cover the fins in the top tank -- might be hard to see with the baffle there. But a flashlight should help see it. If you're running antifreeze, regular ethylene glycol will foam up in a non-pressurized system. We use propylene glycol (Sierra or similar) in South Texas year-round.

Unfortunately, I don't know all the details on that car. I do know that the guy just started the motor for the 1st time @ 10:30 pm the night before. PM NealinCa as I'm sure he could probably provide you with more info. on that car.

I had to leave the event before that particular car made a pass. But Neal said that one of the car's brakes locked up at the end of the run and sent the car out in the middle of the field. Both the driver and car were ok, but sure had everyone scared for a few minutes!

Check over on the Fordbarn Model A MB...There's a recent discussion of the Westach used on 4cyl's. www.fordbarn.com/aforum/messages2/430509.html on July 29. Had it handy because I just printed it out. I'm not usually that organized
