Wheres the fuse box on on a 54 chevy? Does it have one? This wiring is a mess and i need to get it sorted out! Thanks alot
Not a dumb question there isnt one. Just individual electrical fuses on important power lines. there are inline fuses for the radio, heater , fuel gauge, and a few others i can't remember right now . But no usual fuse box or panel.
The real cheap model did not. It was the same basic lay out as the tri 5 is. That includes the pick ups.
Do your self a favor for the time spent and money buy a new wire harness. I had a rats nest wire harness on one of my cars and it was nothing but trouble every time it was driven. Lights worked when they wanted to and i had a short which almost burned the car up . The best money ever spent.
a 54 chevy has no fuse box ??? that's really weird, i've never heard that before. when did fuse boxes start becoming standard equipment ??
Many '54s don't have one ... an accessory fuse panel was available for easier installation when more optional equipment was used.
I had a few fuses on the firewall, underneath the dash on the driver side. But like raceratrod said you should buy a new one and rewire it.
EZ Wire, 12 fuse, see them at swap meets/shows for 149-179 ez to install...has more than you'll need...John
rebel wire makes a good harness... US made as well far as i know... Fat Hack was going to make wire harness' a couple years ago and sell em, dont know what all happened widdat tho
I agree, get a rebel wiring harness, you'll spend less on that than the pieces and headache.PM glenn33 or check out his add in the classifieds, you'll be happy you did.
Sounds like a job for REBEL WIRE...ta da.... If ya need any help sortin things out, let me know... Glenn
I had to relearn everything I "knew" about cars with my 53. The wiring really threw me, as most of it runs of the gauge cluster and the voltage regulator. I'll probably rewire it when I swap moto- engines.
