This is my thought on this issue. If he doesn't show, then sell'em again. If Homer acts like a dick, send him a bill for your relisting fees and other expenses.

Someone also mentioned a lawyer and getting an opinion. Unless you've got a lawyer on the hook, then most of the ones I talk to want money first. As for the 'payment in good faith,' over a 32 month period there were MANY times the that seller was available to make transfer of the seats. Unless it was done in a firm timeframe - which it isn't here - the buyer at this point doesn't have a leg to stand on.

I sold a bed off my buddy`s wrecked `05 Dodge Ram on ebay....3 times!!!! First time the guy did not understand no-shipping and he was looking into shipping it himself, but I heard nothing after 6-months! He already payed for it,I think it was about $375 or so. Second time I list it,guy pays promptly and tells us that he`ll be there within the week, that time it went for $600...waited another 3-4 months and never hear a thing. We relisted it a third time, and it sold for $700...2 guys drove from Ohio with no bed on their truck to pick it up the next day and paid cash.

We NEVER heard back from the first 2 guys.

  5. FU*K HIM--- It ain't yours anymore, get it off your property.
Call the local cop shop, tell them you want to do a PPI(Personal property impound), then call a wrecker and have it towed away. Remember it ain't yours anymore

Good point......My pops always told me....Make a customer happy and they'll tell 4 people and piss one off they'll tell everyone...yup!!! try owning a restaurant! it can be a real bastard sometimes!!!
    just give him the seats!

  8. I actually have a local guy who wants that car and we can deliver it to him. There's more to that story, because the car in question is rediculously rare and the guy had me send the parts to him he was afraid might vanish in shipping - namely, the tags - and me being an idiot assuming the guy was buying in good faith sent them - but there's easily $1500 in parts on it without even breathing hard. I figure on that one, the guy seems to come for the Hershey and Carslile shows, after this fall if he doesn't show the local guy gets it and the paperwork will say he bought out 20 months of storage on the car. It's a rusted tagless wreck anyways.

    As for the seats...

That would be great if I was Wal-mart or something, but this guy hasn't bought anything else in all this time, and even if he does, do I want to store it until I'm 80?

My problem is to me to expect someone to keep something all that time, free, is like taking advantage of them. In this case, not a lot of advantage, but I've been up there plenty of times and there's been plenty of weekends that I could have set something up so he could get them even if I couldn't be there. For a while in May-June-July I was there once a week. I could even have brought them home to my house if I thought he'd get them in a few days - but there's way too much shit here now to keep them here for months. Hell if I knew where the cousin was, I could probably have delivered the damned things for my gas and like $20.

Take them to the junk yard, and dump them
Make sure you get a pic of it and send it to him thru his
    EMAIL.

  10. I'd give him the seats along with a kiss!! Like Toll Booth Willie says "A Kiss Upside the head with a Louis-Fuckings-Ville Slugger>>>>.

Give the guy his seats if you still have them... at a date that is convenient for you.
It's not worth the hassle to do otherwise.

  12. Perhaps a good lesson learned. Next time perhaps put a closeout date for completion of transaction -payment must be made by....and picked up no later than...Good thing it's only a seat, had it been a car some serious storage fees might be in order, or a refund minus storage fees.

:D I can care less what someone thinks of me. When, I sell something I'll give the guy 30 days to pickup his part, after that there is no guarantee I'll still have the item. I make it very plain about the pickup time frame. I think this is a fair way to deal with people after all my place isn't a warehouse. After nine years storing a truck, I would think the guy was dead and move on.

Leave the seats out for him. Who wants to talk to the dude anyway? Let him know if they aren't picked up this time they will no longer be available.

You are a better man than him, keep it that way.

I'm with SHifty.......send all the guys that paid you.....give them a "last chance" time line & tell them after that date they will be at the curb so don't bother after the arranged date.

This way..... your a good guy - still.

  20. Let him know you'll put them on the front lawn for him whenever he wants to swing by. But I wouldn't resell them unless you refund his money, it's not worth the fued.

Yeah I agree with everyone else, he prob wont show up, but what I most agree with here is you should tell him this is his last chance to pick them up.
