I don't.

If you're worried about having to talk to mini-truckers then maybe you shoul find someplace a little less public to hang out...

No one ever asks what my shirt means or what the url is for the HAMB. It only allows other HAMBers to say hello.

you're trippin.

If someone see's a t-shirt on a guy and has no feelings for traditional building, but still wants to post on the HAMB because he thought the shirt was cool.....
WE WILL RIP HIM TO SHREADS when he intros...

Sounds like fun to me [IMG]

better put the website address real big across the chest! [IMG]

6. Im with Yorgatron, ya wear it to meet other HAMBers and if somebody with a cool ride asks ya about it you tell em. Half those mini truck jack***es wouldn't have enough sense to ask about it, they would just think you werent cool because you werent wearing a Von Dutch shirt like everyone else.

Two weeks ago at the Round Up, I'm on the way to the outhouse and a guy walks right in front of me in a HAMB shirt. If he wasn't wearing it, I would never have asked him who he was. It was 62Buford and now I can put a face with the name when I read his posts.

On the other hand, there was some kid running around at the Round up 2003 with a HAMB shirt and when I asked him what his HAMB name was, he looked at me like I was speaking Russian. Then I asked him if he was, in fact, on the HAMB. He said that he wasn't and had an at***ude.
I felt like saying, "here's a tip, dip****, don't come to an event that will have potentially hundreds of members of a "club" and wear the shirt and expect NOT to be asked about it."

I wouldn't worry about having to deal with minitruckers or other folk who don't fit with the HAMB code o'ethics. Have you ever noticed the "intro police" get after somebody. There isn't anything or anybody that gets through those guys. This board does an excellent job of moderating itself, with the occasional need for intervention by our moderators. Who knows, we may have a flood of other traditional hot rod enthusiast who may even make this an even better place to learn and share.

I look forward to being able to identify fellow HAMBers at an event.
Cheers.

I'm sure you are all right. . . I shouldn't piss on the party. Have fun with the shirts everyone.

If Courtney starts calling his truck a rat rod I will make fun of him though.

The only reason I don't have a mini truck right now is due to the fact that they can't tow 12,000 pounds like my full size. Try towing you r new non running projest home with a Isuzu. Being that I got my start with minis I don't have a problem with them. But I also keep all my thoughts about them on the proper chats. If you don't want a non HAMBer wearing a shirt don't sell one to them. There is a lot more people here into them than what you think.

I represent that remark. As a proud past mini-trucker.. Go screw yourself for that comment. When was the last time you saw a mini-truck post on here. VW, well that is a different thing.

As for shirts, I think they are a good thing, it is a way for other HAMBers to see me at a crowed show. When was the last time someone came up to you and ask what your shirt meant. I have worn my all over the US and I have never once been asked.

Who was that refering to? Being that I was a minitrucker myself I do not have a problem with them. I still have one that is sitting in storage while I try to figure out what to do with it. I was screwed over by a shop that was well known for building a lot of minitrucks that were on the covers of magazines. One that that brought me here was the desire to learn how to do stuff myself after the trouble with that shop.

the shirts and mag coverage only attracts people that think it would make them cool. Only to ***** about newbies that don't drive anything cool and hope that the coolness would rub off on them.

.....the world has enough narrow minded ***holes. They aren't needed here.........If "mini-truckers" and "ricers" enjoy "traditional hot rods & kustoms" and wish to visit here and respect that.......lighten the **** up! Oh yea, as well as having owned a chopped '55 Studebaker, I still own this puppy.........

"We have become part of something much more complicated than you or I will ever fully comprehend. We build more than just trucks... we build friendships, we build futures, we build our dreams. We drive our trucks low and hold our heads high because we have an unwritten and unspoken agreement that we will live life to the fullest and never fall victim to 'the norm'. Others laugh at us when we spend hours on end working on our trucks, yet shake our hands when we are done."
-Wyatt Strange

Now change the word TRUCKS into whatever suits you- be it Hot Rods or Kustoms. Humm... Not so much different after all. I've had mini-trucks and I'm not ashamed to admit it. If things work out I'll have another for everyday transportation.Maybe I'll even con my buddy Casey Hardin to come out of retirement to juice it up for me. I can appreciate almost all forms of customizing. But this place represents my favorite.

And to keep with the topic. I like my HAMB shirts.

i guess i was lucky,,i grew up in a place when the only guys sporting mini-trucks were either DISCO BISCUITS or mullet rockers rocking the 710's,.....the white boys rode on centerlines ,shaved handles and louvers stuffing buick V6s down in them while the natives rolled deep in there HI-Lux and HARD BODIES with POP OUT wheels with chrome splash guards tilted to the side.....hahahaha

...its cool i guess,,kinda how in FIVE years there will be guys defending there RICER heratige on the HAMB...

HAHAHA

Damn, **** reynolds, you brought back a bunch of memories with that last post..remember the "convertible" kits? Then when you got the top cut off the back of the cab just kinda flopped around.... I've still got a satin jacket from some club I was in stashed away somewhere!
