Sorry about my post above, I was having a ****ty day and I really try not to be negative unless its in a "poking fun" humor kind of way. I just get tired of folks on here telling folks what this board should be like they have been been around for yrs.

Most of the folks on here came from some other type of car background before they got their first Hot Rod or Custom. When someone new pops on and post a pic of something that does not belong, go ahead and let him/her know what the board is about.

You are en***led to your opinion about not wanting shirts. But again since there is not a web addy on them how is anyone going to know about this place from just looking at them. Its all word of month and a few magazine references that bring folks here.

And as for mini's. I loved the cl***ic Nissan (early '85 smooth bed) King cab painted a solid color with 195's mounted on polish porsche alloys, snug tops (no window of course) and everyone wanted a bed full of speakers from AudioChamber.... that was a great era in the mini-truck times and no it does not belong here. anyone remember the song and video "Cars with the Boom" by Le Tigre I think?

Not to stir the pot but I have a question and a comment. First the comment I hate rice burners, mini trucks and all the "Fast and Furious" style ********. This is just personal preference and not an attack on anyone. Now for the question: What is not traditional about channeling (no I didn't say body dropping) or sectioning or chopping a late model anything? The work itself is traditional is it not. Chopping and sectioning and lowering have been around since the automobile started being m*** produced, the automobiles of the 50's that were being customized where 50's automobiles as well as 20's,30's, and 40's. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to compare but think about this, the kids are customizing what they like and enjoy just like they did in the 50's. I don't care for the late model body styles and I would much rather push my 3500 lb 53 than drive a tricked out honda but I can't really fault the people who tricked it out. The real problem I have with the late model crew is.....At***ude. The majority of the people I've met in the mini truck rice burner crews have been real ****s. They have no respect for those who came before them and for some reason they think they invented the things they do. Here a case and point: Hubnut was at a local parts store one night and ran into a kid with a rice burning mini truck (I've know this kid for awhile and never had any problems with him till he bought his piece of ****). Hubnut jokingly ask him if he wanted his top chopped in which the kid replied "Hell no, I'm not into that kind of ****" and then continues to tell him about his hydrolic system affectionatly refered to as his "drolics". This kindof pissed off Hubnut a little but he let it go and went into the parking lot to watch this ****head bounce his truck and listen to him say that "drolic are 100 times better than air bags couse you don't have as many problems with them". This punk then says "Well, I do know a couple of people interested in getting their rides body dropped" and "Would you be interested in doing it?" Hubnut then said to the kid "Body drop? Oh you mean channeling." The punk kid then says "No we ain't into that old school ********" and turns around and leaves. The last time I saw that truck his "drolics" had broken and the front end of the truck was pointed at the sky.

I remember Boones. It was off a album/tape called Grab it like you want it! I still can't say or read it without laughing. Gee, I wonder why they never got super famous.

The way I see it, mini-trucks were a great place for a lot of people to start. I'd have much rather learned to cut and hack on a mini-truck then a hard to find cl***ic car. After you've got the skills down then you can move on to the better iron. One other thing I can say about the guys and gals who drive mini trucks , they know how to party. Of course most of them are still young and have the energy.

Thats my thoughts and now I'm going back to checking out the board made for Traditional Rods and Kustoms.

"We have become part of something much more complicated than you or I will ever fully comprehend. We build more than just trucks... we build friendships, we build futures, we build our dreams. We drive our trucks low and hold our heads high because we have an unwritten and unspoken agreement that we will live life to the fullest and never fall victim to 'the norm'. Others laugh at us when we spend hours on end working on our trucks, yet shake our hands when we are done."

Okay JohnB, I hate to break the news to you, but I am Wyatt Strange! It is a pen-name I used when I wrote MT Diary for Mini-Truckin Magazine back in the early 1990s. I never expected to see that on here. Well, looks like we're all out of the closet now!

With some of the **** ideas that are being posted on the t-shirt design thread I'm begining to feel that we shouldn't do a shirt either. [IMG]

Come on guys, we got a ton of artists on this board. Why only a couple of cool designs. Give Ryan a hard choice to make.

and how about actually reading what Ryan asked on that thread, no comments, jokes or votes, just t-shirt designs/ideas.

Two weeks ago at the Round Up, I'm on the way to the outhouse and a guy walks right in front of me in a HAMB shirt. If he wasn't wearing it, I would never have asked him who he was. It was 62Buford and now I can put a face with the name when I read his posts.

On the other hand, there was some kid running around at the Round up 2003 with a HAMB shirt and when I asked him what his HAMB name was, he looked at me like I was speaking Russian. Then I asked him if he was, in fact, on the HAMB. He said that he wasn't and had an at***ude.
I felt like saying, "here's a tip, dip****, don't come to an event that will have potentially hundreds of members of a "club" and wear the shirt and expect NOT to be asked about it."

[/ QUOTE ]

He probably had an at***ude cuz he was being asked every 5 minutes what his HAMB handle was! [IMG]

I don't.

You say that because you don't think these people would contribute, correct? Shut your ****ing cake hole contribute yourself...
