Damn..I LOVe those Monte's...I had three...a 70,71 and 72...........the 72 was a SS.....They are the same underneath as the Chevelles....so parts are plentiful....even the trunk lids interchange.....

nice car ****!

5. Sweet! Always liked Monte Carlos. The wires look good on there.

Notice, in the last pic, the water droplets all over. A few years ago I knew a guy here who had a black mid eighties caprice that had a very cool use of metalflake. It was huge silver flake but spread out so much that it looked like the car was covered in drops of water. Especially when the sun hit it. That and the wires reminded me of that car.

Again, nice looking ride there, ****.

That's the only bodystyle Monte that I ever really cared for. Looks especially clean in black.

One question for ya, in all seriousness...since there is obviously a big difference in the diameter of those wires and skinny whites vs. the original wheels, does it matter to you that your odometer/speedometer are going to be really inaccurate? I'm really not trying to sound like a smart***...you may not care, and that's your deal...I've just always wondered how much people think about that when they change the size of their wheels and tires.

Needs wild airbrushed murals on the sides and a naked lady on the trunklid now. And lots of super fuzzy mohair stuff for the interior. [IMG]

Ugh, I love those things! I'm still kicking my *** over a lost one. Had a chance to buy a 71, perfect interior, ran great. It was that sweet dark gold... the one thing that chased me away was it had bondo turds in the inside quarters... someone had pushed bondo over rust holes, and it squirted out in the trunk. I figured it would pop out in a month, and who knows what else rust it had. He was selling it for $2500... I ran into the body 4 years later at a lot... they wanted $2500 without the motor, and that bondo never did bubble out...

Anyhow, that black one is sweet beyond words.

Ha Ha...those wires are *****ing!........I would of gone with 14's though.( I'm a little old school)hehe......

I had a hard time getting my 72 to lay with 14x7's because the back wheel well opening would rub.....You may have to trim the inner lip if you juice that sled....and want it to frame.......

but, you weren't going to grow a pair and yank that ****er all over 'Tucky were you????? [IMG] [IMG]

here is one i bagged for a customer last summer. SUPER nice car, 454SS even. he turned around and sold it to some yuppy car salesman in Indy, i delivered it for him. he wishes he had kept it, so do i.

it sports 18 and 20 inch Americans. he ordered the ones with the grey center, but they sent the full polished by mistake. looked good, but with the metalic grey paint job i think the grey cast centers would have been cool, and sorta retro-esque...

he'd even considered having some subtle silver flames done on it...

sammy you are living the dream my friend. of course you know we come from the same school, so i love it. i will say though i would love it more with a set of tru spokes instead. just a little more early look but i like it just as it is. don't know if i would juice it or just drop it a bit and drive it to death. man some guys have all the luck. i guess your gonna be needing some extra sspace to park that thing so send me an address and i'll babysit the chevy until further notice.haha. man your stable of cars just gets better and better which is hard for me to say since the chevy is a huge standout car in my book. speaking of which haven't heard you mention it in a while got anymore of the finishing touches done on it? again congrats on yet another nice ride...ken....
ps i will say that with runnin' newer wires i've got to think black spokes would be a nice touch. just thinkin.....

its a factory 402 bigblock

brian,i was hoping to have the FFT at least somewhat going, but the intake i bought off of ebay 2 weeks ago decided to take the long way getting here and still hasnt arrived. [IMG] p.s. i PMed you.

mike,,that IS a sweet *** monte!

ken,,the only thing ive done latley to the 56 is have it pinstriped,,...the flames outlined in apple green and some free hand on the dash, hood and trunklid..and some bullets for the astros,.,.i was HOPING to have more done before summer, but i apparently dont have my priorities straight, hahaha

the 100 spoke knock offs were purchased new about 7 years ago, used for 4 months and have been stored ever since,,so there gonna get used this time, hahhhaha

Sammy, Sammy, Sammy.....what are we gonna do with you boy? You're gettin as bad as me! Now, are you gonna keep this barg, er, car? I really thought you'd build that little ford and get it featured in a magazine.
I gotta be one of the few that don't really care for those cars but that's ok. I'm just sick enough to kinda like the 73-74's as customs. They were so far out of the norm with the heavily sculpted fenders and I believe it was the 74's that had the sunken tailights? Too weird.
I once had a chance to buy a 70 Monte SS from a guy at work. He was still driving it with the original muncie trans but he had a 350 in it.....was storing the original big block in his closet! It was part of the deal for $300...
Even though they're not my favorite, I shoulda snagged it.
