Here'some TECH...We gonna build an A V-8 Chassis in a week!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by SamIyam, Jun 15, 2004.

  1. We gathered almost all the parts today... gonna make a trip to Tardel's tomorrow to get what we don't have... and then start work on it tomorrow night.

Plans are to get the basic rolling ch***is done by Sunday, then box it up so yerkillinmesmalls (My brother Matt) can ship it back to Chicago on Monday.

    He'll finish the rest there.

Oh, and we're going to do***ent it here on the HAMB so you can see how we did it... I promise you'll have better pics than this one (of the parts pile).

I also Talked with Mike Bishop about some changes to the original design... so, we'll outline those and why we did them.

Might even try to drop our own axle if ChopperBob and I have enough time to make a JIG.

    Stay tuned...
    Sam.

So what do you plan on getting done in a week? "Just" a frame with four rolling wheels and all of the locating bits? Motor mounts? Pedals and plumbing with working brakes? Steering? Using a Deuce or Tardel K member? It's going to be cool to see this come together.

Very timely for me as well Sam as I am just getting started on an AV8 project myself. I am waiting with bated breath, you know, like when you've been eating sushi. [IMG]

  8. Plans are to get the VT fabricated K-member in, locate the motor with motor mounts, get the front axle hung, rear kick up done, torque tube shortened and rear end mounted.

Two guys, one garage... 6 days left.
    Sam.
