    Just got my 1st Mopar. 1963 FC170
!st real Mopar had a few CJ5's they don't count.

I need a kick down ***bly. to drive it. How do you tell if it is a 904 or a 727? or a 360 for that matter?

Welcome to the HAMB. To tell if your trans is a 904 or 727, look at the pan. If there is a bulge on the p***enger side it is a 727, if the pan is relatively square then it is a 904. To tell if your motor is a 360, you will have to look at the casting numbers on the side of the block. Good luck on the Charger.

The head has a 36 on the rear by the last exhaust. I have to jack it up to get a look at the other casting #s. The pan has a small hump on the trans pan & it is not square. Is it a 727 I hope?

What side are they at Under the starter?
