I went to Johns Rod and custom picnic a couple of years ago. It was huge. This year I want to take my car because I just got it registered.

Are any of you guys going?

I really like hot rods but I saw a lot of Aussie cars there the year I went. I don't know if I should take mine or go with my mate in his A model Ford. (Mine is a Torana with a 350)

Maybe I could get to meet some of you guys and see your cars in the flesh.

    Cheers

    Ed

  3. I'm gonna miss it this year....just too much on in general life and the EK isn't much different from last year like I wanted it to be. Most of the cars I'm interested in i see during the year anyhow...the KUSTOM NATS at Phillip Is, will be fun but..hehe

John's Picnic is more fun on sat IMHO...too big and not HAMB style stuff sunday.

  12. Hi Guys,

Depends on whether or not I can finish this 8,000 word assignment for uni. At this stage looks 50/50. A couple mates of mine are down from Perth and are going for all three days (KSK from the HAMB) so keep an eye out.

  13. Im gonna be there on sunday, no car though.

  14. Like Frank said I'll be there Friday nite, Saturday arvo for a bit (not definite, depends on kids) and Sunday for sure. No EK though, bloody close but...
Look for the tired green roadster!

  15. Yep, set up with the usual trade stand at the Picnic for both the Saturday and the Sunday.....as long as this wet weather pisses off!

Ed: leave the torana at home and go in the A. You'll feel a bit more a part of it. It's bad enough that I have to take a mustang, although I do usually hide it out of the way.

Rain at the picnic :) only if accompanied by a stiff southerly... I thaught you blokes were in drought ?
Devilrod have you shortened the chrome on that EK ? the bloke who bought mine is thinking of doing something different with the side chrome more like the aftermarket or dealer fit twin strip deals I think (I saw a number in Sydney with this set up original I would think ?)

  17. Not to butt in but Devilrod has shortened the trim on the EK and had done a killer job too !!

IMO, its really looks great on his car !!

Probably Sat and Sun. Think I'll get a good look around on Saturday and see if I can do some striping on Sunday. Sunday sucked for looking around last year.
A9X, I'd comment on your choice of transport for the weekend but I should probably leave it alone . Welcome to the HAMB. See ya at the picnic

Doc. I'll be there. How much? ....How long is a piece of string?
The charging thing is something I have some difficulty with, although as I get better at striping, it's becoming less of a burden.
I tell you what, you supply the A4 paper and I'll supply the paint ;)

Look for my shitty old Chev and I won't be too far away

  22. I will see you there, hey better any chevy than walking! Or god forbid a mitsubishi!!

  23. What Frank said. Shoertened the front gaurd trim and moved it back, easy and subtle. Has confused a few people.

I take it you don't like Toranas. I'm still undecided. The weather is looking good so I might bring it out. Hope I can meet some of you.

    Cheers

A9X, I like all kinds of cars, muscle cars, stockers, but mostly Hot Rods. It's about horses for courses that's all. You wouldn't take a Dachshund to the dog races.

Bert, what kind of art are we talking about here? Also, what's the deal on claiming a patch of carpet in the clubrooms? I could happily spill paint on their floor.
