Corky, I've heard so many negative comments on your whitewalls over the years that I had some pre-conceived notions about you.
I must say i appologize....... I was wrong and find you definitely rooted in the tradition aspect of the hobby. You even seem pretty cool too even though, in the past ,your tires ****ed.:D
I'd like to meet you someday!:)

Their was an older African-American gentleman who lived in a nursing home near me called " Sonsee Da Ray "
He was born well before the movie Roots. He had a creative mama.

i love it when women marry into horrible names.

i've come across two pearlers in my life. my neighbours, the Dwyers, had a mum named barbara... course, aussies always shorten names so she was barb.

    barb dwyer.

i can't believe that i now have to say "no ****! the truth"... it really is, she's moved now, and divorced, but she kept the name because it was so cool.

the other one was a girl i went to school with, clare beach... had a dog named rocky... rocky beach, which was funny by itself, but mainly because it was named that to go with her mum, sandy...

    sandy beach.

    "no ****! scout's honour!"

    now the dumb ones -

waddaya call a guy with a bunch of rabbits up his ****? - WARREN!
waddaya call a guy with a shovel up his ****? - DOUG!
waddaya call a guy withOUT a shovel up his ****? - DOUGLAS!!!

    welcome to the HAMB corky.

When I worked at the County Jail, Shot With Two Arrows was an inmate there. We shortened the name down a bit to just "Shot With Two". Made the paperwork easier. ;)

I usta know a kid whose parents named him "Sonny."
That's it, and another who's given name was "Doc," they weren't Nicknames.
Is Corky your given name or a nickname?
Is it short for Corcoran, or Courtney, or?
At least it's not a boy named Sue!

  18. Corkey,
On those radials that look like Bias plys... can you guys make some 5.00 x 16's in those?

Also, what about making an exact copy of the original M&H Racemaster... or Bruce Slicks? I know some guys want whitewall slicks... but there is a whole nuther world out there wanting blackwall slicks that are sized as the originals...

Also, there are a whole lot of old Drag Bikes out there that are just begging for 18 x 4" Racemaster rear slicks.

Thanks for producing tires for the love of it... those of us that are into traditional hot rods thank you.

    Sam.

My uncle went to school with Soda Popp. His sister is or was Lolly Popp.

Soda is still in the Jefferson City, Mo. phone book. I wonder if Lolly got married? Maybe to Mr. Gagger.

I also knew a Richard Head.

No, I think it is 69, not 169.
Wisconsin has a Bhong Recreation Area state park.

Saw a gas station chain out west call *** 'n Go.
Would have been perfect if it was next to an In 'N Out.

Here in Atlanta, there's an exit for L'il Burn/Beaver Ruin.

And I just found out we have a woman here who's name is Susan Cain-Cain. Her maiden name was Cain, and her husband's name was also Cain. They even went to far as to trace their geneology to make sure they weren't related somewhere in the family tree before getting married, and they weren't.
She decided to go with the hyphenated last name because she didn't want to give up her maiden name.
That's probably more sad than funny. Actually, it's more stupid than funny.

Sorry Corky is having to endure this, but what the heck--this is about the nicest HAMB Hazing I've seen! And it is a lot of fun to read.

Oh, and I've got a set of your tires on my '54. Put 12K miles on them in a little over a year, and recommend them highly.

Hi Petejoe...Sorry to hear you've heard negative comments...actually there has been a lot of mess out there that has been cranked up by folks that had their own selfish motives. Don't mean I can't be criticized though...

I've had tires that ****. I've had many, many more than that though that are cooler than dang it and do the trick right for the right car, bike, truck or even antique airplane. Been doin this a long time now so there have been mess ups. All I can do is fix em do the right thing and move on! Look forward to meetin you some time too. Will be in Milwaukee on PowerTour and in Bowling Green at Hot Rod Reunion. Come see me!

    Best,

    Corky

Dr. J? Can't answer that question unless I know you are a real Doc or if youre Dad gave you that name.

Actually not my real given name which is Joseph. Dad loved the newspaper cartoon strip in the paper "Gasoline Alley" and told my mom when I was "yanked out" that she could name me anything she wanted but they were goin to call me Corky. Stuck.

We got a new 550R16 coming. Hope others see this so it will explain a little about these new radials. We have em in 550, 600, 650, 700 and 750R16. The tread design is original looking and the tires are all built in new molds. The ply ratings are heavier for the bigger sizes because some of the applications in the antique world are big heavy cars. The tires are made for us by Tornel Tire in Mexico. This company started in the twenties. I have met Don Armando Tornel, who was a contemporary of Harvey Firestone, Chas Goodyear etc. He is in his nineties. His company has many factories now in Mexico, but this particular factory is very, very high tech. They build tires on contract for Michelin under the Michelin brand side by side to these cl***ic radials. The tires are tested to the most strenuous performance and endurance testing by Tornel as well as Standard Test Labs in Akron Ohio. We've already sold a large number of these tires in the sizes I have listed but the most important I can tell you is that I have them on my 53 F100 that I drive almost daily. These tires work and work well!

Send an email to stevej@coker.com to find out what you need to know.

BTW... Firestone Dragsters are avail in black

I do love it Samiyam. I live it daily. ok...dang it got to wear a suit to dang much but would prefer to NOT! Thanks for kind words.

    c

I am leaving for the Powertour in the AM so will be off line a few days.

    All the best,

    Corky
