New guy here, Names Chris Pook, I live in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. I'm 28 years old and have been building various creations out of metal and parts since I was 12, cars and trucks since I was 16. First car on the road was a 73 Lincoln with a 460. I think that was my parents way of making sure I stayed close to home cuz I had no money for gas. Been steel fabricating my whole life (Dad owns a fabrication business), went out and got my electrical ticket, worked mostly industrial factories and sawmills. Got bored and opened up a business doing Blacksmithing/custom fabrication, mostly furnishings and home accessories. Started that about 4 years ago. I did my first frame off customization to a 1975 Impalla (lowrider) when I was 17, and then when I was 19 moved on to a full show, competitive hopper 1963 pontiac parisienne. At that time I was also Lifting and lowering cars, restoring frames etc for friends. Kinda moved on to rockcrawling 4x4's building full custom frames and 4 link suspensions, but had the itch to build a rod. So I found a body from a friend a few years back and have collected parts for awhile hoping my business would slow down and I could get going on it. Its either a 1928 or 29 ford pick up, just a shell but I've been collecting parts and will either sit it on a 1930 model A frame or build my own, I also picked up a a late model flathead not sure of the year its a 1949-53 from what I can tell. Currently I'm also working on an airbagged and chopped 1949 GMC pick up for a buddy. Don't know lots about pre 50 cars but read alot and do search and have been looking at them my whole life, but I'm sure I'll have a few questions for all of you. Chris
I've always liked that old wrought iron blacksmith stuff. Got any pics or a website? Welcome aboard eh !!
I have a badly outdated website, www.nocturnaldesignz.com but it will give a small glimpse of what I was doing a couple years ago. I wish I knew how to do web stuff myself. I'll try and post pics of my cars someday when I get the wife to show me how to resize etc.
Yeah I must agree Langley is a great town, has changed alot in the last 10 years though thats for sure....and I don't think it'll ever be the same as it once was. But its still a pretty nice place to live.
Figure I'd repost here since I have been offline or just lurking for somtime, had another kid and built a new shop at home so the 28 pickup was on hold. But the dust has settled and I'm getting ready to get working on it again.
