Wish mine was that cherry- still has the original paint with a few warts- but then again mine makes all those sweet sounds :p Gas mileage sux with the 5.14's though
The wheels on the ragtop aren't Americans, they're Internationals- some of you old buggars might remember them

Super looking car, the best part about it is the original paint. Worn or weathered, it looks nice in the pics, don't paint it! Interior looks great too! Lots of options on some nicely crafted wheels, even some Wheel Vintiques steel ones in a larger size. A slight drop would be perfect.

And adding to the comments JEM had, there is a difference in a BW "T5" and other Tremecs. I have had two behind my 351w. The 1988 OE Borg Warner T5 on sticky street tires sheared 2nd gear's teeth plain off on a hard shift the first summer; the Tremec 3550 I put in in 1995 is still as strong as can be, even after the Vortech blower was strapped on ten years ago and rear wheel torque measured 491 ft/lbs. So double check on what 5 speed is in there.

    Found Tremec model details here:

  6. Will do thanks!

Those Black Galaxies are SWEET...another fella called me with a Blue 62 with kinda the same setup. Can't wait to hear the Chestnut 62 in person. If its in the cards? so be it. I really miss my 390/3 on the tree 61 Fairlane, so somewhere there is a 60's Galaxie/Fairlane is in my future....

    Thanks all for the comments.

  8. Well...I'm not getting the 62. I was going to see it today but a few days ago...another fella called with a full fendered Wescott 32 Ford Roadster.
Older build but done right...he threw some cash in the deal for my 39 sedan ...so we are doing the trade. Never had a roadster!

Now, I'll have the roadster and since the 39 is leaving...I will be keeping my 40 Deluxe coupe, as I had planned originally......Life is good.

Thanks again for all the comments.

I've seen several just like this before. To me, these 62's, especially when this color, look best with body colored steelies and dog dish caps. If you want it to look even meaner, change rear wheels to 8" wide. 275/60-15 Pro-Trac tires look great on the rear, and a tall skinny bias ply on the front for that vintage street race look.
