Any of you guys remember a mag called "Pride and Joy" from back in the day? Early 80's I figure. It was a really "grassroots" type magazine. My father-in-law produced it at his home. He did the entire production, from photography, writing, and****embly. I've only seen a few copies of it, I was just wondering if anybody remembered it.
i've never seen it. do you have any copies you could reprint? ther weren't many car magazines produced around here. the only one i'm familiar with is Cars and Clubs..printed for a short time around 1958-59 in the Minneapolis area
i'll see if i can get some shots of a few. he kept one of each, so i know he has some. also has a ton of pics he took back in the day. some killer junkyard photos. he's from valley city, north dakota.
Were the photos taken in ND? Are they photos of Louies stuff north of Val Cty airport? Does he know that nut in Wallum? The guy has a mile long personal yard in the river valley. I tried to deal with Merlin on some stuff (mostly T & A that I wanted) when we started to get to a price, the guy in Wallum starts to talk crazy talk. He sez hez "135 years old (looks 55), the Govmt is going to kill him for what he knows" . There is still a lot of tin in ND, and 1 loopy dude. Brian
Sorry, never heard of it. As for lots of tin in ND, with the price of steel up what little was left the farmers are hauling in to the salvage yards to be crushed!!
I have an issue of cars-n-clubs too...differnt that that one. and it is the only one I have ever seen.
Nope, never heard of that one -- early 80s I was in college and not paying a lot of attention to the car stuff . .. Steve. PS: But I do have a complete set of Cars & Clubs -- all 13 issues!
