Hot Rods Hey Tubman,,,,,a question about a Flathead Mercury intake

Hey Denny ,
I remember you posting about the Mercury factory intake opening size .
If I remember correctly you stated you had opened the I.d. up to a larger dimension,,,,,to use a larger , better carb on it ,,,,but I can’t remember the exact number you gave .
My intake measures about 1.320 in each barrel,,,,I guess it is considered 1 5/16 from the factory?
What about at least an 1.50,,,,or even an 1.750 ?,,,,,what do you recommend ?

Anyone else is welcome to add their opinions as well,,,,,,it’s open to discussion .
