Hey yall I bought my first model A a year ago and now im getting ready to start the project. I dont have much experience but thats the whole point of this project is to learn. My current plan is get rid of everything but the body and start from scratch. pull a 5.0 Windsor from a late 90s model explorer along with the 8.8 irs, brakes. If i want to go with a coil suspension and have it set up like an autocross car should i go with a factory style frame ( i can possibly get one for free i just have to pull it out of a giant metal stack in the woods) or should i go with a double Z style frame (around $800)

If the body you are talking about using is the one in the picture, that is not an original Model A. Its someones fabricated body.
But to answer your question, you should use the double Z frame and sell the original Ford frame to someone else to use under a Ford body.

Collin is a young guy (20) just getting into old cars.
While his car may not fit into the “Traditional “ HAMB era, he respectfully took the time to learn more and sent me a private message that in learning more, he understood that his car doesn’t Fall into the “Traditional” ERA catagory.

I extended another link of another sight that might be more in line with his car but also encouraged him to enjoy learning more from the HAMB.

It’s younger guys like this I hope will stay and enjoy the HAMB, learn about the history of Hot Rodding have that fire one day to own a old “Traditional “ Hot Rod.
