Mainly, the users of plaster and resin castings................................I have looked around, for some "backwards" letters and numerals, to install in a mold, where the script will come out, in the proper orientation, on the finished product...........................Ideally, script 5/16 to 1/2 inch in height, of metal or plastic construction.................

Someone know of a source, where I might not to buy 1000 pieces????.......I did some "Googling", but was not having much luck, 'prolly by virtue of me not knowing what the hell I'm looking for!!!!!!:eek:

    Thanks in advance!!!

Try a Patternmaker (I think you may call them Molders) they have letters and numbers in many sizes. They are usually made from aluminium, and they have the draft angles to allow them to be extracted from the mould.
The letters are commonly used in industrial castings to show the manufacturers name, part numbers etc.

why do you need reversed? put standard type on your pattern your mold is made from pattern, when you pour your mold everything is correct, hot wax is how they hold temporally.

  5. You make the real thing with normal plastic letters as you want it. You coat it with RTV and let it dry for a day or so in a warm dry but not hot place. You remove the RTV and Voila you have a perfect mold to pour your resin into.
    Don
first you make a positive to make a negative to make the positive.(or finished project)

........ And don't forget to use some PAM cooking spray or WD-40 so the resin don't stick to the mold....

  7. I agree. They only need to be reversed if you are using the casting to make a stamp ( like typesetting)

If you want to make a mould to cast copies of script ( like emblems) then you use the correct facing positive to create the mould, ergo the original script.

Thanks for all the replies and sources, Gang...................To be more specific, I need some "positive" letters, that I can install into an existing mold, so that the letters will be oriented properly, and "negative", when the part is turned out......................Thanks for all the leads, I'll check them out!!!!

Why wait for 1 or 2 days for the RTV to dry ?
    45 minutes are enough :)

I had a stamp shop make some for me, you can do any font or design you want, and you just ask them for proper orientation(not reversed)
