We can't do nothing on cars, all is forbidden, the French law is the big trouble for us (that ****s)...you change tire size, your are a criminal!!!!!!

In fact, in France, we are all outlaw......but there is not enought people who build cl***ic Hot Rod, or cool Kustom, so the relation with cops and the technical control stay a good communication, a positive at***ude, and courtoisie.....but with the new bad generation and the ****in Rat Rod tendance, it's not simply to explain the real cool traditional Hot Rodding, made thing seriously, and safely....The new generation are confuse with "race extrem cars" and street legal, and for a French guy, explain that at the administration it's not easy (and modify a French Automobile!!).... TV cable promote the bad side of the cars.....

So no home made frame or V8 for my daily.....i'm sad, but next time....i'm gonna.....;)...but not on this one:cool:

I love it! The wood panel sides over the window are great, and I think my favorite part....until I see what you next. [emoji1]

Looking awesome. Love the primer and wood panels. I'd drive that thing now that I see it like this. Can't wait to see the inside.

Very cool "****gin' wagin' ". Looks like you made lots of progress already. Looking forward to what you do with this one. What is that very interesting looking thing covered in the background? Maybe that's the next project?

When i was in France I saw a Buggy built on the basis of a Renault 8 (maybe?) with the rear motor and three bolt wheels. Looked alright actually. You ever see one like that?

Yep, there is some Buggy like this (Buffalo/Sarap), it's not really a good lookin' buggy, but they was street legal with Renault motor. In late of 60's middle 80's, this kind of buggy was popular , here in south of France. But i think Meyer Manx was the best ever. The Apal Jet is the belgium import (but made in Belgium) of the Gl***co Inc Renegade.

    Cool, thanks.
Strangely I was just reading about a Mexican Renault Alpine replica, based on VW mechanicals! Would be kind of funI think, since I can´t afford a real Alpine any more.

I actually worked on a Renault Panel here in Canada, many many years ago in the Province of Quebec. Sort of a reverse VW Van, with a tiny 4 banger front drive that did not do well on our highways or with real winters. We had even Canadian Renault dealers before they gave up and went back across the water.

This van is very odd but cool, Ratatouille.
Not far from me there is a Renault (I think) dumped in the woods and 1/2 covered in dirt.
Maybe I should go back with a shovel and liberate it, haha.

Wow that thing is already cooler. Love it. Does the side door still function with the sideboards?

Hello Inked Monkey, no, the side door is definitely close. But i don't care, it was too small for a normal loading....

  26. Ratatouille, i watched your first build from day one and couldn't stop reading and feeling with you through all steps forward and back, plain wonderful. This one is cool, too, i like your writing style and the way you start thinking about turning a real millionseller into a nice custom. from a jack to a king.
Thanks, i'm watching with joy. Great stuff.

I think I read in a car mag some years ago . The term was "BUGLY" for BUT UGLY.
Only a mother could love that thing. It's so ugly it's cool.
