My wife and i both missed the days when we owned muscle cars and had promised that we would build something together. Well the 51 Chevy 3100 isn't quite what we are used to but we're both excited about it. What we've found is a solid frame and body that we're going to pick up in a couple of weeks. It's a great foundation for what we both envision as a nice compromise between our muscle car days and our rural lives today.

The truck is pretty much a blank slate. We've already got a deal in place for a 283 to put under the hood and a middle of the road 4 speed to put behind that. All easy enough decisions so far. Just wait until we have to pick colors. That will be the difficult part.

We'll be picking everyones brain here I'm sure. There is so much we've got to learn and lots more to learn over.

Welcome! I'm working on a 51 Chevy 3100 right now, also. Good luck and have fun with it!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

simplestone. I found your build thread and started reading it. I'm sure we'll run into many of the things that you have. We are looking forward to following your progress and posting ours. When we make some that is. ;)
