Welcome from Indianapolis, home of the 500. Somewhere I have a book (bought in Germany) of insane custom trucks from Afghanistan--breaded like fried chicken with reflectors, geegaws, cast roosters, rocket ships, all sorts of crazy things. Very much like the Filipino jeepneys I've seen pix of.

I realize Afghanistan is not exactly your backyard, but there was custom stuff on those trucks a guy could use to really make a custom his own. Cast aluminum looks to be easily available over there to your benefit.
