New to posting, not really new to the boards. I reg'd a few years ago to the jockey journal when I was putzing w/ a bike.

I've recently aquired my dad's old t-bucket & thought I'd come back here & educate myself a bit. He built it when I was a baby, over 40 yrs ago, then promptly sold it once finished & had a few unsuccessful attempts at buying it back over the years. Finally, finding the owner had passed & his nephew (I believe) took over ownership...he gave him a call two years ago to see if he'd be interested in selling. The answer was "no", but two weeks later the guy called my dad back & said it isn't for sale but if he wanted it since he built it, it was his for the buying. So, that's that.

Forward to a few months ago, he started going over it & fixing things that needed attention, he realized he didn't want to spend any more money making it "right"...got frustrated (although, I think a lot of it is pride & realizing how difficult it is to get in & out of these days for him), he began telling me how he had a couple guys that want to come look at it. I got pissed..he FINALLY got this thing back & now he wants to sell? WTF. I told him to park it, don't do anything else to it (because frankly, his vision for it is totally different than mine) it's not costing him any money & sit on it until I can buy it from him. I really have an attachment to this thing because it's something my dad built & I'd really like to keep it around.

Anywho, it's in my garage now.

I'm currently straightening out a few electrical issues & getting it somewhat streetable. Wheels/tires & new headers should get addressed this winter. My dad had decent slotted wheels on it, no idea where these came from (YEE-HAW). The frontend was replaced & the windshield glass has been replaced, thanks to "decorative glass etching" from the previous owner...I suspect drug-use. My dad put a 350/p-glide in it. He did a little work to the 350 & it had a cross-ram intake. The intake is now gone, I suspected they changed the motor & I've found they replaced it w/ a 283 mated to the p-glide.

    Welcome to the Board
I am pleased for you that you are enjoying your dad's old T. Don't sweat the guys who aren't into SBC's - it's their problem, not yours.
    Cheers.

    Thanks guys.

I'm just happy I have it. I think he's kind of tickled now, knowing how badly I wanted it & he's not hating on it anymore.
