I have been on here a couple of years and haven't had anything to say. I finally got my 1970 GTO convertible. I have had that for a couple of years and it is pretty nice. I have had old Pontiacs since 1982 so I know my way around the GTO. However - I just got a 1950 Pontiac streamliner flathead 8 cylinder. I am probably going to paint it satin black and pinstripe it. The previous owner redid the interior so it is stock looking grey cloth on the seats. The body is in excellent shape with old green paint faded down to the primer in some spots. It runs OK ... with the exception that it overheats. I am going to look into that first. He also put an alternator in it. The dash is hot ... so that tells me he just threw the thing in there and didn't protect anything. I have to go in there and start testing the volts to everything. The chrome on the car needs some help. I can only imagine how much that will cost to be replated. anyway - I just got the car and I have not had time to really go through it. OH!! the brakes suck. I will probably put in disk brakes. I am not looking to keep this original. Plans - satin black with pinstriping - Chrome replated - keep the flathead - convert to more modern disk brakes - maybe put it on bags. repairs needed - clock, radio, dome light, gas guage, half-assed 12 volt conversion, seat belts added. Thanks guys! Any help and advice is welcome! Steve
