Hi there guys! I'm programmer from Johannesburg, South Africa. I've been a member over on Hotrodders.com for nearly two years now and heard about the HAMB quite often but never really came over to have a look and/or join. I am a member of the Reef Street Rod Club and I'm also the webmaster of their website. I have four vehicles at the moment of which not one is running yet. I'm fairly close to finishing up my '53 Chevy 210 4-dr though. Then I've got a '52 DeLuxe which I want to do along traditional lines, a '48 Fleetmaster which I want to modify extensive (channeled, converted to 2-dr hardtop, maybe chopped and then some more) and also a '48 GMC which needs a LOT of rust repair. I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community.
Thanks Sticher1. Did I understand correctly that you send me a P.M.? I went to look in any case and didn't see any. I also wanted to show my cars to you guys so here goes:
Thanks. Yeah the scene is fairly big but not nearly like it is in the U.S. Check out our club's site for which I've now added the link to my signature. Go to the events section for picture galleries. Unfortunately there's only two cars in the "Member's Rides" section but will start growing soon.
Hey Neo, thanks for taking the time to tell us a liitle bit about yourself and your car club. The pics you included in your site were some of the neatest cars I've seen. I especially liked the tasty late thirties tutone Hudson and the black '69 Charger. Very nice stuff. Your '53 looks very nice, especially with the sano install of the small block. Incidentally, your country is on my list of places to go to before I die. So many beautiful places to visit. As I am a certified geezer, this better happen sooner than later. Again, welcome to the HAMB.
Thanks. The 38 Hudson Terraplane you're referring to belongs to one of our club members. He bought it out of an estate and is only changing a few small detail. For instance, he didn't like the ratchet shifter it had and wanted to change the valve covers and airfilter. The taillights are from a mid-50s VW Beetle and the light on the deck lid is from some BMW motorcycle. There are very few musclecars like the Charger over here so when you see one you really drool all over it...lol Sorry for sounding dumb but I'm not too familiar with the term 'sano'. Please explain if you don't mind. I ***ume it means something good but I'm not too sure exactly what.
