I just realized after a year on the HAMB, I have not introduced myself yet, my bad.

I am a car guy, always have been, always will be. "Back in the day", was my day, and "old school" was my school! I've been going to Dragway 42 since 1968. Hot Rods and customs, cruise in's, (non judged) shows, Drag Racing, home building your own cars, having friends and family with the same interests, is priceless, what else is there? Oh yeah, good music and good drink!

We have a 1934 Chevy Master, 1956 Ford “Vicky” kustom cruizer and matching 1956 camper, 1960 Ford Ranchero (in process), and my current project a 1933 Willys altered drag car, for the street.

The 33 Willys will be a 118” stretched wheelbase, open front, fenderless, Altered. Features will include Radir 10” pie pan ww slicks on American Racing grey spoke mags, w/12 spoke wheels up front, ladder bar rear, straight axle front, 350 with tunnel ram 2 4bbl and vintage style scoop all dressed in plenty of finned aluminum, and zoomies! Vintage parachute cover, and wheelie bars. Body will be finished in hot rod black, with red sparkle scallops, and red tint windows. Some decals displayed are originals from the late 60’s early 70’s. The goal is to have a altered drag car as close as possible to looking like it’s from back in the day, to run around the streets today. I’ve had the glass Chuck Finders body for about 20 years, but just started working on the project a few years ago. Money and time considered, I hope to roll out in late 2010, or sometime in 2011.

I have read and learned a lot on the HAMB, on various subjects, and appreciate being a member of something this cool.

I was there from 1969 to 1975........AHRA Days .......then a few times since with street cars. Last year returned to break in my Gasser with first TNT pass down qtr............ Drove 500 miles for the first pass with friends from way back. I was laughing at the end of the qtr that the car went straight.

Do you have any pics to post,I am stretching one of my 33 body kits to 108 inch wheelbase for a customer and I am curious to see how it looks at 118.I get a ton of requests to stretch the 33, something about that 100 '' wheelbase that racers just dont like:D:D

    Thanks
    Scott
