Never thought that I would like a high top 32. But the fenders, rake, make the proportions look great.

Not that you're taking a poll, but I like a stock lid. That in itself will make it stand out. The fact that my 32 5W is uncut is one of the things I like best about mine.

If your having trouble selling a Highboy, put fenders on it. This is especially true of cabriolets.

  6. Kind of reminds me of this old Lobeck build.

I love the rake on this 5 window. Can't wait to see it hammered. I haven't seen one Steadfast car that didn't flat out rule, they all look like real hot rods to me.

I'm glad you are getting what you want. My opinion, and who cares about that other than me, is it looks too street roddy. Kinda like a Hotwheels creation blending a skateboard with a steamroller. I prefer the traditional look that the forum champions. The fender/fenderless look I have struggled with for mine. The front is great but the rear of the body tapers inwards too much at the bottom to look good without. I guess I will go with when I start my build. Good luck with yours!

Can't wait to see the roof back on. How much is the chop going to be?

I looked thru the thread but I may have missed it. What are the specs on the chassis if you don't mind me asking?

I just got back from Steadfast. Man Henry does such awesome work. I couldn't be happier with what he has done so far.

I can't remember exactly what Henry told me it was. I was to busy checking out my car I wasn't paying attention to what he was telling me. I will have to contact him and get the info or maybe he will see this and post how much he took out. Whatever it was I think it looks perfect!

No steel insert, going to put a original insert back in when we get to that point.

Looks good. How much drop in the front axle?

It has a 4 inch dropped front axle.

The chop is very nice, I'm still feeling that the rear wheels/tires are a little too large.

You said the axle is moved forward 7/8". Is that for more tire clearance? Are you running hairpins on the front or is it still 4 bar?

Henry took off the 4 bar and put hairpins on. He moved the axle forward to make the wheel more centered in the fender looking from the side. I believe it also allows for more clearance so he could get the tire to fit up in the fender as much as possible.

I'm curios if the engine was set up in the chassis before the rake was added? If so will you need to compensate to get the right degree of engine tilt back?

When Henry put the new front end on he put in a flat front cross member, he also put in a different trans so he had to redo the engine mounts.

I figured y'all had a handle on it! Looks like y'all are doing a great job!
Are the drip rails being removed or redone? Hard to tell in the pics.

The drip rails were removed for the chop. They were pretty wavy so we purchased new ones from upac. When Henry is finished with the top he will put them back on.

I went and saw Henry again today. He is almost done with the doors. They are turning out awesome. Sorry no pics of the doors, forgot to take them. 001.JPG
