I may regret asking but why not I am putting together a 11.5 to 1 compression 283 on a shoestring budget (well that has grown). NOS Arias pistons, zero gap rings, ported "416" heads with 1.94's, 1.50's, forged crank, new I beam rods. I have a bunch of new cams and plan to run a solid or hydraulic, I am not too worried about driveability, ok if it is on the ragged edge. It will go in a Model A frame with a Super T10 with a 27 T Coupe body. I was thinking about using the 327 / 350hp .447 lift advertised 290 duration. Maybe I want something that will work a little better at higher rpms. Appreciate the insight. Thanks, Tim
Crower pro street solid lifter 00320, Performance level 3 - Pro-Street - High torque at low revs. Lopey idle. INT/EXH - Dur @ .050” Lift: 230°/236° RR: 1.5/1.5 Gross Lift: .458”/.468” LSA: 112° RPM: 2000 to 6000 Redline: 6500
always keep in mind that a camshaft that works good in a 350 will KILL the bottom end on a small cube engine
The one I quoted was actually designed for a 283-302. Not that it will pull any stumps, but with his compression should run pretty hard
